Dr. Maggie Daniels is an assistant professor at George Mason University. She received her B.A. from Miami University of Ohio, her M.A. from the University of Georgia and her Ph.D. from Clemson University.
Maggie has conducted extensive research and fieldwork in the areas of event management, wedding planning, tourism policy and destination promotion as pertaining to local economic development. She partners with agencies in the Washington DC metropolitan area to assist them with event and tourism implementation and evaluation. Dr. Daniels is a prolific researcher and has a combination of over fifty published papers, book chapters, professional presentations and technical reports to her credit. She is currently working on a series of collaborative studies with the National Park Service regarding the National Mall and Memorial Parks Management Plan.
Maggie designed and implemented a groundbreaking wedding planning class at George Mason University. Maggie wrote a book on the subject with Carrie Loveless, entitled Wedding Planning and Management: Consultancy for Diverse Clients. This text features over 150 full-color images by award-winning photojournalist Rodney Bailey. Both the course and the book have received national and international accolades from the media.
